The Boost Pad launches any player that steps on the black pad, draining 12 iridium from a connected source every time it is used. When the boost pad is on a slope, such as on a Wedge 30 or 45, it will launch the player in the direction the pad is facing. The boost pad can be used by anyone, even those outside your team.
Being launched by the boost pad temporarily prevents players from maneuvering, but this can be alleviated by softening the fall with the jetpack.
Boost pads are primarily used to get on top of sky bases or spires (it is relatively cheap and very quick). It is used both in constructing skybases and raiding skybases.
Boost Pads can be used as traps. It can launch players into the sky to fall into the ocean or take fall damage. It can also glitch players into walls, which will cause them to bug out.
Generally, boost pads are powered with a single Distributor Cap.
